What do you see?

OK, that’s a fairly loaded question, but it’s interesting that our perspective can easily be subverted by the application of pink rubber to these cosmetic bottles.

Does David Baskin’s still life reveal “latent eroticism” to you, or have you always seen the phallic properties of deodorant bottles?

From David Baskin’s site

This ‘still life’, a selection of store bought cosmetic bottles, was cast in pigmented rubber. By stripping the products of their brand recognition, logos, or semiotic labeling, one begins to see the high aesthetic quality of these objects and a latent eroticism is revealed.
