Regular readers amongst you may know that I have  a thing for lamps. Here are two, very different lamps that caught my eye in the last couple of days.

The first is a very tactile product by Flynn Talbot that encourages you to play with a sphere to change the light and create your own mood.

The second is design informed by nature. This series of lamps created by Meghan Finkel are made from reclaimed branches that she finds on rivers and beaches. Nice.

The Committee is a beautifully crafted toy with a dark secret, limited to an edition of 25 by Auditorium Toy Co. If anyone wants to buy me one, it’ll set you back $1200. This includes shipping.

‘Six business-attired figures, viewed from above in diagrammatic form, are passengers in a vehicle on a relaxing outing. However, one of the passengers is restrained. The trunk reveals various instruments and tools (length of rope, tape recorder, baseball bat, shovel, etc.). While each element in this scenario is individually innocuous, together they make up an undeniably sinister collection.’

In my continuing obsession with all things lumiere, I saw these lamps on Dezeen the other day. Not only are they a beautiful series of 3 mouth-blown glass lamps, but they are designed to house the fantastic Plumen 001 lightbulb. Now there’s a partnership. Hello internet, can I buy?

Yet another lamp that I would like to have. The form is simple and pleasing,
but what I love is that it’s one piece of glass (plus a light fitting).

I have been looking for a pendant lamp for our living room for ages, but it’s so hard to find any decent designs. I have toyed with the idea of a chandelier and the whole bare-bulb thing has quite been popular for ages now. This covers both.

It’s 4.19 in the afternoon and the light is fading, as it does at this time of year.

I saw this print whilst shopping online before Christmas, and I thought what a nice thing to visualise. And in such an effective way.
