Amazing monuments photographed by Jan Kempenaers
It’s not often I use the word “amazing”, as I think it’s one of the most over-used and inappropriately applied words in the English language. In this case I think I may be justified.

These communist monuments are all in former Yugoslavia and have been photographed by Jan Kempenaers for a book entitled, Spomenik. Read more here

Bold geometry and abandoned spaces. Two of my favourite things combined by photographer and artist Georges Rousse
Found at Today and Tomorrow
The work that goes in to his installations / compositions is remarkable. Get a little insight in to the process in this short video.

The clothes of The Non are not for me. Not that I don’t like them, but I need help in the masculinity department, not hindrance. The art direction of these photos from their Spring/Summer 2010 collection is spot on.

Before the weekend I posted some images of people looking at this Jaguar plane Harrier jet which is suspended from the ceiling inside the Tate Britain.
There is also a Harrier jet Jaguar plane on the floor of the adjacent hall. Both machines are amazing to look at, but their positioning within the building and juxtaposition with the architecture, made the installation by Fiona Banner something quite special.

I intended to take pictures of something at a gallery last weekend, but in the end, I found these shots of people looking at ‘it’ more interesting.

Besides not having time, I haven’t seen an awful lot to be inspired by recently. These are a few images that got saved to my desktop though.

I’ve been so busy lately that I’ve practically forgotten about this blog. In the meantime, here are 35 helmets.

I have a compulsion.
There’s something about being submerged in water that is comforting, but somehow unnatural. To me at least.
These images (and video) frighten and fascinate me in equal measure.
This freediving film by Guillaume Néry and Julie Gautier is amazing. Both calm and eerie. You see what I’m talking about?

Photos by Ume Kayo
This photo has been making me laugh for days.
The style of these shots aren’t normally what I go for, but the quiet (or not so quiet) observations in these photos by Ume Kayo are too beautiful.

I came across the photography of Andrew B. Myers a few days ago, and I love the tone of his work. It feels somewhere between photography and illustration, with a dry sense of humour.
